I booked two months ahead, and they charged the full amount five days before I was due to arrive. But when I showed up, two hours after the official check-in time, nobody was at reception. My name was on a slip of paper, and the property looked completely abandoned. A little later, they called to cancel my reservation while I was already there. They told me to leave and said they didn't care what happened to me for the next few days. Then they stopped answering my calls. I was left alone without a place to stay, help, or any explanation. I've never felt so helpless. There was no excuse for treating me this way, and I reported it to the police. Future guests should be extremely careful before booking here.

We were outside the touristy areas, which let us explore and enjoy the place like locals. The spot is close to the tramline for a direct ride into Venice, and the welcome drink was a lovely touch. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean. The pillows were very thin. We asked for extras but were told that wasn't possible, so we both ended up with sore necks by the end of the stay.

That welcome coffee was a lovely touch, and getting into Venice was easy with the tram just a short walk away. Venice Lion Residence had beautifully decorated rooms with elegant antique furniture. I thought it was very good value and would recommend it to anyone wanting a charming stay near Venice.

Paola was so kind, offering us coffee and directions to the train station, and she answered plenty of questions by email too. I really appreciated the postcards, thank you! The room had a beautiful old Venetian look, with elegant wallpaper and furniture prints. The shared bathroom was spacious and right by the rooms, so that worked out fine. The neighborhood is well connected, and it was a great deal.

The staff made us feel welcome and treated me kindly, which means a lot to me as an immigrant after how I’ve been treated before. They even let us in before check-in opened and left a lovely note with our name beside the room keys. The residence has a gorgeous vintage design, with Venetian masks throughout, and the showers were clean. I loved the balconies too, they made it feel like a romantic old Italian movie. I’d absolutely come back. Love them, and good luck ❤️
