No breakfast is served, though there's everything you need to make your own. The rooms have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a shower bathroom, and a kitchenette, and the house itself is beautiful. The host was really friendly. Downstairs lives a lovely elderly lady I'll always remember fondly. She welcomed us straight away with a warm, fragrant potato omelette. A good experience overall.

For getting around the town and nearby villages, this central place worked really well, and the prices were affordable. Venosa's local food is excellent, too. The rooms are quiet, well looked after, comfortable, and stylishly furnished, and the host is professional and always available. There are shops and artisan workshops nearby with quality local goods, along with a charming café and pastry shop. Several sights are close by, including the Romanesque Cathedral, the Unfinished Archaeological Site, the House of Horace Flaccus, and the square dedicated to him. A lovely location right in the historic center.

There are lots of little shops and businesses nearby selling local specialties like sweets, taralli, cruschi peppers, and terracotta objects. The square dedicated to Horace Flaccus is easy to reach, and from there it's simple to continue to the Lombard castle. In the evening, you can have an aperitif at one of the small pubs overlooking the castle, or choose the central café in the square dedicated to the Latin poet for a quieter stop. In August, fireworks at the end of the street make for a lovely sight. The place is well situated for exploring Venosa, close to Horace's house and the Cathedral.
