We left satisfied and took home a couple of bottles of red and white wine, along with Rossese grappa. We had a fruity, very tasty 2020 red Rosesse, and the homemade Grappa was smooth and flavorful. The locanda is across from the church in Verrandi, in the hills among its own Tagia olive terraces and wine yards, with a garden where they grow vegetables. The owner was lovely and proudly told us about the property and the food. His parents made everything. Dinner began with zucchini antipasti: stuffed flowers, torte verde, and little pancakes. For primi we had ravioli with spinach and bietolli, served with butter and sage, plus linguine with porcini. Then came rabbit Ligurian-style and tagliani, followed by parfait with small pieces of meringue.

We tried calling to reserve several times over three days, then sent an email and got no reply. The phone line was engaged, and no one called us back. When we finally got through on the day we were traveling, they said they only open on Sunday, four days after we were due to arrive. Please make this clear on the website or respond to inquiries.

Set in a medieval village among olive groves and vineyards, it's a lovely romantic spot. My only small quibble is that the shower could be a little bigger.
