The villa hosted a number of notable visitors, among them the Queen of Romania, Herman Hesse, Hugo Wolf, Gabriele D'Annunzio, and Clara Wieck, Robert Schumann's wife. Umberto Boccioni was also there in 1916 as a guest of the Marquises Della Valle di Casanova, and painted a portrait of composer Ferruccio Busoni on the villa terrace.

As of April 2024, the garden and villa are unfortunately closed, and the church can only be seen from outside.
