The price is the one real plus. There’s just one lunch and dinner menu for the day, so there isn’t much to choose from, and the place has little atmosphere. It looks like a Bulgarian canteen, only less appealing.

The location was excellent, and the price wasn’t bad. The owner and her daughter were also genuinely friendly and kind. Still, I ended up staying somewhere else because the room door was in such bad shape that one kick could have broken it. I couldn’t sleep there anyway. The room was filthy, with spiders and cobwebs in every ceiling corner and clumps of dust on the floor and in the closet. Closing the curtain sent more dust out from behind it, and there was a bug by the window. Both the room and bathroom were very dated. A low price can’t make up for cleanliness that leaves so much to be desired.

There’s a restaurant right next to the hotel, so you can get lunch or dinner without taking the car. The room was clean and quiet even though it faced the road, and the staff were helpful. GREAT price, and it’s a perfect base if you need to stay around Vergiate.
