We especially loved the animals: the horses, chickens and two geese all seemed to follow the owner’s directions like dogs. The owner also pointed us to a nearby restaurant with fantastic food. The rooms are roomy, spotless and modern, while the original building has been preserved with great care. You can see how much time and love the very friendly, attentive owners have put into restoring the property. It was a one-of-a-kind stay, and we’d gladly recommend it, especially with the upcoming winter games.

We learned a lot about how rice is produced during our stay at this working farmhouse near Milan. The owners’ family made us feel genuinely welcome, and the place is comfortable, interesting and fairly priced. They’re restoring more of the farm buildings with real respect for the craftsmanship and history. We’d definitely return to see how it turns out.

We were driving down to Tuscany and stayed just one night at Mahthildis, but it suited us perfectly. The farm tour gave us a chance to see the lovely architecture, and breakfast was delicious, with fresh eggs. Our room was spacious, beautifully renovated and stayed cool. Everyone was attentive and friendly. It’s peaceful while still being convenient for Milan, so it would be a lovely quiet, romantic break for couples. Hope we can come back soon! Thank you ❤️

The calm of the nature around this place is mesmerizing, and the accommodation itself feels distinctive in both its history and design. We hadn’t booked, but the owners welcomed us kindly and helped us find other excellent places for dinner nearby.

We arrived late in the afternoon and enjoyed the fresh air and peaceful setting, even with just one night here. The rooms are spacious, perfectly clean, and come with a comfortable bed and pillows. The property feels new, the price was really good, and breakfast was included. Staff were friendly and ready to help with anything. Mathildis was a great place to rest before our flight home. Thank you ☺️
