What a beautiful place to visit and see. A must-see when you're in Italy!
We visited during covid, when there weren't many tourists, so we were lucky. It was worth it. I really loved the unique color of the place. Cinque terre, highly recommended.
The apartment had plenty of space and an amazing view, just as described, and everything we needed was there. The rental agency was lovely to work with. They greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the property. We'll certainly stay with Cinque Terra Riviera again. Thanks for making our time in Vernazza so special. One more thing, Vernazza is quiet in the morning and evening, when it's not so touristy. It's a lovely place to wake up and fall asleep during a stay in Cinque Terre.
Even out of season, Vernazza is lovely. We visited in November and spent the day hopping on and off the train.
Monterosso, the largest of the five coastal villages called the Cinque Terre, sits among hills planted with vines and olive trees. The greenery wraps around the built-up area, and the village is known for its welcoming feel, lovely reefs, beautiful beaches and clear sea along the Ligurian Riviera. Aurora's medieval tower marks the divide between the two parts of town. Fegina, the newer part, is lively and shows how much tourism has brought to the area. Its many hotels and restaurants speak to that. Beside the terrace of a local villa stands the famous concrete Giant, built in the early 20th century by Levacher and Minerbi, an architect and a sculptor. It represents Neptune, the god of the sea, and has become a symbol of Monterosso. In the old town, the castle ruins overlook narrow medieval carruggi and colourful terraced houses. The beach runs along most of the coastline and is the Cinque Terre's only extensive stretch of sand. Tourists and locals alike make good use of it.
