Acaya Golf Resort & SPA

We came for a three-night stay while golfing, but a few things mean we wouldn’t return. There’s no food available between lunch and 7pm, which isn’t great if you’ve spent the day on the course. The rooms are poorly insulated, so you can hear everything happening around you. They provide just one bottle of water for the whole stay, and after that you have to buy more from them for 2 euros each.

The course, spa, pool, and rooms were all really good, and it’s a great stop if you’re there to golf. But the service let us down. The staff didn’t seem very interested in helping guests, which felt wrong for the price. Food was a catastrophe. There was nothing to eat between breakfast and dinner, and dinner service was very unprofessional. They took plates while people were still eating, and it took hours for food to start coming out. I left with very mixed feelings.

It’s quiet and peaceful, with lovely nature around, and we had a great time. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were superb. The facilities are fantastic, though I didn’t try the spa or play golf. Keep in mind that there aren’t other restaurants or bars nearby, and the ones at the property close at their usual times. I would have liked air conditioning or a screen so we could leave the balcony door open.

The hotel was very expensive, and the bar and restaurant staff were rude. At night there’s only one restaurant, it’s à la carte, and the food was very poor. The golf was good, the clubhouse lovely, and the staff and food at the golf side were excellent.
