The room was clean and cozy, and we felt safe behind the gate, with three electronic doors between the entrance and our room. You open them using an app sent after booking. Being near the train station was handy for our travels, and there were always electric scooters there too. The pictures made the room look bigger than it was, and it took some effort to find the right room. Still, it was a great place to stay. The owner was really nice and helpful, and his English helped us figure everything out that first night. I’d highly recommend it if you’re traveling in Verona.

Fast internet was a plus, and I booked this place because it’s near the train station. But it’s some distance from the city center, and construction nearby was noisy. People buzzing in at the room doors added to the noise. The room wasn’t cleaned, the trash wasn’t taken out daily, and I wasn’t given fresh towels. The bed didn’t seem level, maybe because of the mattress or the frame. This is an apartment building, more like an Airbnb than a hotel. There’s no reception or staff on site. Everything depends on an app and cell service, and you have to unlock four doors with it to reach your room. If your phone runs out of battery or loses service, you’re stuck. It’s a hassle, and there were no instructions for getting out through the locked street gate.

The apartment was clean, and its location by the train station was excellent. Still, this was the worst travel experience my husband and I have had. We couldn’t get inside because of phone service problems, and the helpline gave us no help. They couldn’t speak English. The lift only worked now and then, and despite asking several times, we weren’t given a key. If other people hadn’t been kind enough to help, we would have been left sleeping on the pavement outside. It was a nightmare.

The building looked abandoned, and there was no reception. Online check-in was awkward and asked for too much personal information. Getting into the room through a virtual app was irritating and impractical. The bathroom was outside the room, and there was no daily cleaning or towel replacement. A very disappointing stay.
