The kitchen appliances were old, rusty, and unclean, and the mattresses felt cheap, as if they’d been chosen to look good in flattering light. The place is an old attic on about the fourth or fifth floor, with stairs only, and guests are expected to clean up and take out their own rubbish after checkout. The owner doesn’t speak any English at all. It seems they may have enlisted help just to get the listing posted on Booking.com. Don’t trust the photos. Seeing it receive some kind of recognition from Booking.com made the experience even more disappointing. It feels like a lot of effort goes into getting a bogus high rating. Don’t be fooled.

The house is really lovely, and the owner is very kind. The bus stop is right outside, and bus #12 will take you everywhere. Just be aware it’s on the second floor, with a lot of stairs.

I’d never seen this B&B before, even though I’d been in the building because my wife’s friend is a beauty therapist there. I had no idea they’d done all this.
