The free breakfast at the lovely bar downstairs was a great extra. The owner was warm, caring, and very professional; we chatted briefly in French, and he shared tips for restaurants and the city. The building and location are lovely, with charming decor and really comfortable beds. Everything was clean, and it was perfect for a stay in Verona.

6/10
The location is central, and the place has thoughtful details, lovely finishes, and a homey feel. It smells nice, the decor is beautiful, and the A/C is quiet. There’s complimentary tea and coffee in a shared room with sofas and tables, plus a separate private bathroom with amenities. The price felt steep, and the breakfast setup was frustrating. The voucher was for Ostinati downstairs, where the food was good quality, but we waited 30 minutes to place our order after repeatedly trying to get one of the four servers’ attention and being sent back to our seats. We then waited another 15 minutes to be served, even though we chose items that needed no preparation. One of the owners also gave us a hard time over the late check-in option on AirBNB. After a long conference week, we didn’t want to break up our only day off.

The owners are kind, and it’s a nice place in a good location. Still, the cost doesn’t feel justified, and I think you’d be better off getting an Airbnb for that price. Breakfast was mediocre too, so I’d eat at a local cafe instead. Don’t let the high ratings set your expectations.

It felt more like an AirBnB than a hotel, but it was a nice, homey stay. The host was friendly, and we got a coupon for coffee and a croissant at a nearby cafe.

I’d definitely choose this place again. The host was great, the breakfast was nice, and the bed was comfortable.
