Case Così - Verona

The location was the worst part of this stay. It’s completely isolated, with open fields around and no nearby homes, shops, supermarkets or restaurants. The website claims there’s a city view, but from our room there was nothing but fields, not even cultivated ones. Verona is more than 8 km away, so you can’t see the city. There is supposedly a restaurant 500 meters away and a supermarket about a kilometer away, but neither is walkable at night. The restaurant path is so dark you can’t see, and there’s no nearby public transport, so a car is essential. Trying to take a walk on the road is unpleasant, and returning after dark feels frightening. Even after we asked the manager to leave a light on, there was no lighting on the road, at the entrance or in the parking lot. We had to find our way in with our phone flashlights. The owner says there’s a security camera, but it should show the same thing: no lights at night. The kitchen had no microwave or kitchen towels, just a little dish soap and a sponge already used by another tourist. The bathroom towels smelled of vinegar. There was also a screw-like door stop in the floor of both the bedroom and bathroom, which is easy to step on or trip over when the doors are closed. The garden they describe as a place to relax was appalling. I stand by my original review and the photos I posted. I’d like the owner to send me a photo from one of the rooms showing the city view advertised on the website, though that seems impossible when the city is over 8 km away. The photos from our room show only fields. This place is clearly not suited to tourists, and the owners seem to have no regard for them. I’d never return or recommend it.

This is a traveler’s apartment far from everything, not a tourist apartment. The manager was told that it’s pitch dark at night, but nothing changed, and it’s hard to find in the dark. They advertise a city view, yet the car GPS put it 8.3 km away, out in the countryside among fruit sheds, including one that was abandoned. Where are you supposed to go for a morning walk, along the road? There’s only one mediocre restaurant, 500 meters away, and walking there is dangerous, especially at night. They don’t seem very interested in their guests.

We were welcomed very warmly and everything was perfectly clean. The only issue was the shower, where the hot and cold water kept changing unpredictably, making it impossible to shower.

Hygiene and service were both fine. There aren’t many comforts or amenities, though I would have liked a few more.
