The Verona architecture is classic, and there’s lovely stonework in many rooms, but this apartment felt very dark and uncomfortable. There’s no kitchen, no separate toilet, and no ventilation. The bathroom wasn’t clean, and the plumbing was fluid. Windows had film on them and broken glass. The place was listed as 80 sqm on Booking.com, but only about 40 sqm is actually usable. The rest is a cellar behind a gate, and cold air rises from it. In February 2024 the room was cold, only 18 degrees. There was no breakfast, and for this place the price felt wildly high. Check-in was impersonal, just a code with nobody there to welcome you. It felt like the owners were waiting to sell and had stopped caring about comfort, with no service and a focus on making as much as possible from the rental. There are much better places in Verona, and both the price and description are excessive.
