Relais La Torre

We’ve been traveling around Italy for four weeks, and this was one of our best stays. Valeria and Francesco were wonderful, helping with all our bookings, and they were great with our kids too. We were a family of five, and our rooms were perfect, with no road noise. The beds were great and the pillows even better. It’s very central, and the hospitality was fantastic. We’d stay again, highly recommend!

Francesco was incredibly helpful, and I’d definitely recommend this place to friends and family. It’s a quiet spot and a great base for walking around beautiful Verona. The apartment is ideally located and nicely designed, with all the utilities up to a high standard. Even the cafe next door was great.

The location was good, but we wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was poor value for the price. Finding it was difficult, with no signs or directions, and getting our suitcases to the room was a struggle because the elevator was tiny and cramped. There’s no hotel parking. Parking is handled by Gonciere, but this wasn’t explained; you have to call and arrange it yourself. Our room was right opposite reception, which felt uncomfortable, and voices came through the door. It was noisy inside, with street sounds coming in, and the sheer curtains let streetlights shine right into our eyes at night. We’d paid for breakfast, but it was in another building, something we hadn’t been told. The bed felt worn out, the springs creaked, and bits of ragged fabric hung from it. The shower cubicle was very cramped.

The room was clean, a good size, and had effective air conditioning. But having it right beside reception made for a noisy, unpleasant stay because the women at the desk were very loud. The bathroom was also right at the front of the room, with reception just outside, which felt uncomfortable. The hotel is on the first floor, and reception is open from 9am to 20. When we asked them to book a taxi for the next morning, they said it wasn’t possible after 0630, so I was anxious about having to call and arrange an airport ride myself.
