The rooms have air conditioning, a small fridge, and private bathrooms, and the staff are friendly. Only Barbra speaks English, though. It's a very cozy place, but the nearest beach is almost 3 km away. You do get a discount at the beach called “Andrea Doria”.

The rooms are clean and everything works, though the furnishings feel a bit dated. The bathroom is small, and there aren't enough hooks for towels. That would be an inexpensive thing to fix. We've stayed here several times and have always found the staff very friendly. You can park in the courtyard, and it's easy to reach restaurants, Lake Massaciuccoli, and the sea by bike. If you're fit, you can walk to the lake too, which means you can go out for dinner without taking the car.

It's quiet, and nearly every room has its own bathroom, a TV, and a kettle. You can ask for a breakfast kit, and late checkout is available for a small fee. I've returned again this year because the hotel is lovely, even if a little dated, and fully equipped for a truly reasonable price. There's free parking with an entry code, and you can check in any time, including when reception is closed. It's handy if you're arriving by train, right on the main street with bars, banks, and everything else you might need. There's also a well-stocked Coop nearby, and the beaches are about a 10-minute bike ride away. The staff are friendly and helpful. PS: My four-star rating for the rooms is only because they're dated. They're still comfortable and functional.
