Hotel Sogno

We were about 400 m from the beach and promenade, with a park across the street. The train station was 800 m away, handy for trips to Lucca, Pisa, or Florence. It’s a quiet spot in the city centre, and I’d recommend it if that’s what you’re looking for. The rooms are basic but clean, and breakfast is Italian-style rather than continental. I spent 10 days here in May while taking a course at a nearby language school. The rooms are small but perfectly adequate, and the price is very good value. It’s on a quiet street by a park, with shops and restaurants nearby. The beach isn’t far, and the train station is within walking distance. Staff were friendly and polite, and very patient while I tried to speak Italian. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Viareggio.

The location and cleanliness were both great, and the service was good. My hosts worked long hours and were extremely helpful, while also being patient with me as I learn Italian. I highly recommend the hotel and the way it’s run.

The location made it easy to get around, about a 10-minute walk from the seaside and main avenue. There’s a huge, pretty park right opposite, with mini golf and bars just a couple of minutes away. Inside, the hotel was clean and well organized, with a nice touch to it. Chiara at reception was friendly and helped with everything we needed. She also speaks German, which was a big plus. My friend and I had a very pleasant one-night stay. The breakfast was delicious, and we’ll definitely come back.
