Hotel Spinelli

Our room in the apartment building next door was spacious and extremely comfortable, and the food was incredible. The staff at Hotel Spinelli were the kindest and most welcoming we’ve ever met at a hotel. They made our New Year’s Eve in Viareggio unforgettable. Thank you, Hotel Spinelli, for one of our best stays anywhere in the world!

The hotel dinner was really good, and both the rooms and breakfast were lovely. We came from Pisa and were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. The rooms were clean, which mattered most to me. Breakfast was limited, but everything was fresh, and whenever we asked, they were willing to bring extra salad or cheese.

Viareggio is a captivating, lively city, with gorgeous Deco and Art Nouveau architecture, heritage Lidos, and good restaurants. We were there for seven nights in late August with a child. The staff were very pleasant, the breakfast hall was a good size, and the breakfast was fine for a three-star hotel. I would have rated the stay four stars, except for the room’s biggest flaw: there were no hooks on the bathroom doors, no shelves for toiletries, nowhere to hang towels or shaving gear, and no coat hooks anywhere. With no balcony, those basic fittings are really needed. I’d suggest this works better as a short stay of around three days, like a Barcelona, rather than a seven-night booking with a child.
