We liked being close to the sanctuary of Vicoforte, and the monastery itself was pleasantly quiet. Some rooms are beautifully decorated. Ours weren't modern, but they were very clean and everything worked well. The restaurant food left us a little disappointed, though the employees and service were friendly and professional.

Staying in the 16th century wing of this old monastery made for a really special visit. The atmosphere and hospitality were lovely, and more than made up for a few awkward bits in the room layout. It has a character all its own, without the standard furnishings and facilities of a chain hotel.

The view includes the Vicoforte Church, and the historic setting makes dining here feel like a special occasion. The food was tasty overall: the delicate Tartare was my favorite, and the rice with cheese was full of flavor, though the brasato could have been better. If you're hungry, the Touristic menu is probably the better choice. There's a good range of red wines, and Dogliani Dolcetto is a must. At 30€ per person, the price felt very low for the setting and food quality.
