Residence Rendez Vous

Everything was good, both the location and the apartments. The pool was out of order, but that was because it was the low season.

A nice find, and I'll have a thousand reasons to come back. The sea is only a few metres away, and the partner beach, Lido Pelikano, is 400 metres from the property. The place is well maintained, with plenty of parking, a tidy children's playground, and a clean, pleasant pool. It was especially useful on rough sea days when swimming there wasn't possible. The house was clean and had everything needed to cook and live in for a few days. The inverter air conditioner stayed quiet at night. The terrace was excellent too, with a table, chairs, broom, dustpan, mop, and drying rack. Linens can be provided for a fee if requested, and ours were clean with all the towels. The beds were very soft and bouncy, and we found the pillows a bit too soft. That's just our personal preference, though, and not really a problem. The staff were excellent. Alessandro struck me as a genuinely lovely person and was always available, as several people at the property also said. I hope we were welcome as guests too.

Our first-floor apartment was lovely, clean, and welcoming. The setting is beautiful, green and well maintained, with parking for each unit. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the pizza they offered us once was excellent. There were some drawbacks, though. The garbage bins were directly under the balcony, so there were smells and noise even at night. Music from the neighboring village was loud every night and hard to shut out. The balconies have only mosquito nets, no shutters, so we had to choose between darkness and quiet without fresh air, or keeping the air coming in with music until around midnight. The shower stall was open, its column wobbly, and there was no bathroom cabinet. I had to bring a kitchen chair in to set down my toiletries.

The grounds are very well kept, with gorgeous greenery, and the apartment was comfortable. The pool was nice, and the gardener/handyman was very kind. My dog was even allowed to stay on the pool deck. The arrival was awful. We were shown the air conditioning remote and told how to recycle, and that was it. Nothing about bicycle use, pool hours, or local amenities. The next day was surreal: the owner's son had a birthday party, and dozens of screaming children, who clearly weren't residence guests, crowded the pool beyond its capacity. Food was left scattered on the floor, and the staff were incredibly rude. When I complained, the gentleman who'd been at reception the previous day just said, "I'll clean up afterward..." as though that were the main issue. I'd booked well in advance and requested a spot with good privacy, but we were in the main passageway next to what we later found out was the kitchen. The older gentleman was a little friendlier, though he slipped on a banana peel that morning. We ordered coffee, ice cream and other things on different days, and each time we couldn't pay then and there because they said they'd put it on the room. At checkout, the bill had no itemized charges and they asked for cash.
