B&B Palazzo Pinto

Vietri sul mare turned out to be the right choice for us on the Amalfi Coast. It's less expensive and crowded than Positano, yet still feels authentic, with great restaurants and lovely ceramic shops. I liked that it was less touristy. There are bars, a few beaches, and plenty of bus connections to nearby towns. The B&B is close to the town's main strip and bus stops for traveling farther afield. Our room was just right, clean, quiet, and felt very safe. Breakfast came as tickets for a nearby café, which had the best croissants ever. The bathroom was beautiful, with ceramic tile and little details that made the stay better.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! If you're flying or taking a train into Vietri, BEWARE! My daughter's flight was delayed. We told the hotel we'd arrive at 21:00 instead of 20:00, but they refused to let us check in later. The hotel messaged us, and I quote, "A problem of the guests cannot become a problem of the b & b we have rules and time tables and rules are to be respected." As if we had any control over the flight! I called the hotel and Expedia, and even asked a family member who speaks Italian to call, but nobody would help. We had to book another hotel and lose one night's pay. I first posted this review on the day she arrived, hoping the owner would help two young girls stranded in a foreign county without a place to stay. I then had to remove it briefly. The owner not only didn't help, but refused to let her check in the next day because of the review. The hotel had been paid in advance, and we couldn't check in or get a refund unless I removed it. There are plenty of other places in town. I'd recommend choosing one that actually cares about its guests.

My flight was delayed and I got there at 7:58 PM, but he still wouldn't let me check in because check-in had to be completed by 8:00 PM. I had paid for three nights and couldn't check in the next day either, since he cancelled it as a no-show at midnight. I was furious to find out in a foreign country that I had nowhere to sleep. It was the worst experience, and this is a scam.

The only downside was traffic noise. Otherwise, the breakfast at a nearby café was excellent, and Rafaelle was helpful and accommodating. The B&B is right in the heart of Vietri, which is a real plus, and the value for money is excellent. The rooms are lovely, decorated with ceramic tiles, and very clean.
