Hotel La Lucertola

The loud music from La Crestarella took over our stay. It was constant and intrusive, completely at odds with such a charming, relaxing place. We came to Vietri sul Mare hoping for a peaceful break, but ended up stressed and unable to rest, despite the town’s beauty and amazing views. Vietri deserves better regulation to protect the peace and beauty that make it special.

The town is beautiful and the location is very good. The rooms were okay, a little dated, but looked just like the pictures and had a bit of an art deco charm. Even so, I’d never recommend staying here. The reception staff’s lack of care was astonishing, and I left feeling completely ripped off. I’ve never had customer service this bad. On our last night, a beach club right next to the hotel played loud techno until well after 2 a.m. It was impossible to sleep. At points it was over 80 decibels, while the usual recommended limit is below 40, so think music festival volume. This was our honeymoon, and I was trying to have a romantic night with my partner. I know noise problems can happen, but the staff acted as if they didn’t care. They first said the hotel was full and couldn’t move us. The next day, the hotel manager told us that wasn’t true. They didn’t apologize, said it was the “last party of the summer,” and refused to call the police or do anything, saying it wasn’t their problem. We called the police ourselves, and they took it seriously. We barely slept. When we raised it again at checkout, the hotel still did nothing and offered no remedy. They told us to ask the booking platform for a refund or compensation. We did, but now the hotel is ignoring the platform entirely. Moving us to another room would have fixed things straight away. A refund of any kind or even a couple of drinks would have helped. Instead, we left exhausted and with a bad feeling that nobody cared about the guests. This place seems to be all about money to them, not the guest or their experience. They really don’t care about anyone else.

The hotel has a private beach for a morning swim, and it’s very close to the port for ferries to famous destinations. The restaurant has a great view, and the staff are polite and helpful. What bothered me was the number of tour groups staying there. I understand people express themselves differently across cultures, but I think groups and individual guests should have separate areas so everyone can enjoy the restaurant’s food and view. During my sea-view dinner, the tour guide loudly announced the group’s plans, completely ruining the moment.

We stayed three nights, and the service was very bad. The rooms are much too old. Our air conditioning was broken, and at night we had to go up and down the building with the reception guy to check if it was working. It felt like I was trying to fix things at home, not staying in a hotel. After a long investigation, the person managing the rooms reluctantly gave us another room. There had been an event at the hotel the night before, and breakfast was reduced the next morning. There were no large plates, and the coffee was the worst I’ve ever had. It tasted more like hot milk. This isn’t a four-star hotel. I also don’t think most of the reviews are genuine.
