Majon d'Aisciuda

The owners are genuinely kind, and the Vajolet apartment has plenty of space for two. I did miss having a sofa, though. The location is excellent, but the Wi-Fi is a little slow and parking can feel cramped.

Cleanliness was impeccable, the one clear positive for me. I booked at the last minute after reading good reviews, and the only option left was the Sella apartment, which looked right for two. It has plenty of space, but the place feels very dated. The bedroom is the only renovated room, though its round bed was extremely uncomfortable. The duvet was rectangular, and there was no headboard to lean against. With the small TV almost at ceiling height, watching meant lying flat. The bathroom is tiny, with fixtures from the 1960s or 1970s. I’d only come across fittings without mixer taps once before, at a hotel in the Scottish Highlands about 25 years ago. There’s just one armchair in the living room, possibly a bed, so my husband and I had to take turns sitting in a chair to watch TV. A microwave would help in the kitchenette, as the hotels we usually use in Alto Adige always have one. The balcony is very small, and parking is a tight squeeze. They only take cash.

The Latemar apartment had a beautiful view over the valley, was spotless and well cared for, and had everything we needed in the kitchen, including an oven and dishwasher. There was plenty of room for us, too. We made it to Vigo di Fassa on December 20th, despite the infamous Prime Ministerial Decree, and spent a delightful Christmas lockdown there. The heavy snowfall and the lovely apartment at Majon d'Aisciuda made it a special holiday, and the kind Rasom family made it available to us. I’d rate it 5S. The host was very friendly, and the second-floor apartment was spacious. Its little balcony had a lovely view. The round bed was a lot of fun for a week, and we felt very comfortable during our September stay.
