The service was polite and the prices fair. It’s a characterful spot, furnished as you’d expect in a historic establishment, and the dishes were delicious and imaginative while keeping their traditional flavour, especially the cjiarsons, a real delicacy. Shame about one pesky fly that kept bothering us and distracted from our enjoyment.

We stopped here for lunch and had a lovely welcome. They seated us by the fireplace and looked after us attentively and courteously. The shrimp with mandarin oranges starter was delicious, as were the homemade desserts, tiramisu and chocolate mousse. We also had trout blecs (it's Lent) and an excellent Friulian merlot.

Traditional, varied food, friendly and helpful owners, and a great price make this a perfect place to spend an evening enjoying the charm of old Carnia. They also have beautiful, comfortable rooms for the night, so you can sample the cellar's excellent wines and then relax.
