Villabassa is lovely, and the location was convenient, just a short walk to shops and the bus stop. The room was spacious, with a fairly comfortable fold-out bed, a separate dining table and couch, and a decent bathroom. It was cheaper than other nearby places, and we could cook and refrigerate food, though only just. Check-in was set for 5pm, which is very late. We arrived right on time, but nobody was there. After calling, we waited half an hour and had to phone twice before someone came to let us in. We were also given the wrong Wi-Fi password. The kitchen was advertised as fully equipped, but had two hot plates, a sink, and a small selection of pots, cutlery, and plates. That was enough for basic needs, but there was no chopping board. There was no kettle either, and the hot plate took about 30 minutes to boil water. The kitchen tap leaked, and there were no basics like a bin bag, sponge, cloth, or detergent until we asked. The room felt rather strange and dark. We were sick and trying to rest during the day, but housekeeping staff were very loud next door, yelling and banging around. For what we got, it still felt a little expensive, and the customer service was poor.

We arrived with the confirmation email from their website, but the staff said there was no reservation in their system and refused to give us a room. I’d received two emails clearly confirming the booking. The receptionist didn’t apologize or try to fix their mistake, and turned my family and me away. We had to find somewhere at the last minute for more than three times the cost. Their error cost us hundreds of euros, and the staff didn’t seem to care. I recommend staying elsewhere. The owner paid attention to our requests. The place itself was lovely, spacious, and clean.

The kitchen was small and short on utensils, with no kettle. There was too little tissue paper and no fan. The floor made noises like in a horror movie 😂. On the plus side, parking was spacious and the window had a nice view.
