The welcome from Mr.Giovanni was lovely, with chilled white wine, fresh fruit, and snacks, but that first impression didn’t last. Dinner was €40 per person for two courses, far too much for what was served, and we didn’t enjoy the food. Our bedroom sat beside the dining room behind double glass doors and a curtain. There were no windows in either the bedroom or bathroom, so no fresh air, and the bed was an old sleeper sofa with a worn, sagging mattress. We had a terrible night and left at dawn without breakfast. The advertised price was agreed, then tax was added when I asked for an invoice. I can’t understand the high ratings. This was the worst stay of all my vacations. I would not recommend Agriturismo Villa Bordone. It’s a shame for the agriturismo.

We didn’t get around to trying the food, though we’d like to next time and would recommend giving it a try. The rooms were traditional and especially nice, and the place felt very homey, with thoughtful touches like a coffee machine. We spent two nights here while exploring Asti and the region. Giovanni was flexible and communication was great. We had a super nice stay. Best, S&G

Before arriving, I’d suggest calling Giovanni directly so he can get things ready. I found this beautiful place on Google while passing through on my way to Milano, and was very pleased with the service. Giovanni is a passionate owner who really looks after your stay. He made a lovely three-course dinner for me and my girlfriend, and we also really enjoyed the sauna beforehand.

The food at the Villa was a real highlight, especially the risotto dishes. We loved having proper local cooking made with quality ingredients. Giovanni was so helpful throughout, and our five-night holiday was an absolute beauty. I’ve seen some nasty reviews here, but we have nothing but good things to say and hope to come back before too long. Absolutely brilliant!

Giovanni Bordone made sure we had a most wonderful stay, and no effort seemed too much. He’s an excellent cook, and the hospitality toward all his guests is wonderful. We spent four beautiful days at this Agriturismo, which had what we needed for a comfortable visit: a nicely furnished room, coffee and tea making facilities for a simple break, and a clean swimming pool. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming place with personal attention in Piëmonte.
