The pool was fine and made for a relaxing atmosphere, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The building and its surroundings are nice, and Villanovaforru is a small, cozy village. The hotel also operates as a restaurant. Staff weren't very attentive, apart from Samuele, who's really nice. Breakfast was poor quality, there wasn't much of it, and the choices were limited. The air conditioning stops working at night, then its fan starts blowing warm air. Other guests have reported the same problem.

We arrived for a one-night stay before the official check-in time, but a staff member was there and let us in early. They were really helpful and friendly. They also let us store our bicycles in a secure indoor spot, which not every hotel offers.

The village setting means you might get to see how local people celebrate if you visit during a festival. There's a pool, and the Wi-Fi works well. The hotel is a former monastery, and its interior has been nicely adapted to reflect that history. The rooms are a little small, and the bathrooms seem to have been added much later. Staff were OK, but dinner and especially breakfast were very average. The tiny bowls for granola made me laugh. The air conditioning stopped working at night and started heating the room instead, as other guests have experienced too. Twice we also had no water, though it was restored fairly quickly.
