Almar Timi Ama Villasimius

We've been coming to this hotel for a while. The staff are always accommodating, the beach is wonderful, the accommodation has been renovated, and the food is absolutely breathtaking. What lets the place down for me is the etiquette at dinner. Even a 4* hotel asks men to wear long pants, but here you see men in shorts, slippers, or beach pants. There are also many people who aren't hotel guests using the beach equipment, and having so many non-guests around isn't very comfortable. These small things bring the overall level a bit below what this 5* hotel deserves.

For the price, this hotel really isn't worth it. Our room's air conditioning made a high pitched whining sound and didn't cool the room. The photos on booking.com and the hotel site didn't match the room we got. The balcony was shown with a nice dining set and a sofa or loveseat, but ours had an old wooden table and two wooden chairs with peeling varnish and rust. The so-called garden view was just a wall of overgrown trees and plants. The pools close around 6 or 7 because dinner is served by the pool. Their photos show the pool lit up in the evening, but it's closed for swimming and only serves as decoration for the expensive buffet tables. The hotel says it's beach front, but it's not really on the beach. You have to take a shuttle or walk quite a ways to get there, which isn't what I'd call beach front.

I was there at the beginning of the month with a group from all over the world. The property is beautiful, the food was delicious, and everyone on staff I met was attentive and polite. Bruno at breakfast and dinner, Simone & Chiara by the pool, and Andrea on the beach shuttle were especially great.

The resort is peaceful and sits in an amazing location. When someone in my family unexpectedly needed medical help during our stay, the team supported us all the way through, arranging hospital care and transportation and helping us throughout. Their kindness made all the difference.
