Hotel Fiore di Maggio

Really good people, and I’m enjoying both the area and the company here. I can see why it gets 4+ star reviews. I recommend it.

The beds were rock hard, and there weren’t enough blankets for all of them. The breakfast “buffet” was so poor, just bread, spreads, a few cakes and juice, that we started bringing our own food. Sun beds at the beach cost €30. The place feels run down and understaffed. The pool bar wasn’t open during the day, even though staff were sitting around. We asked for a pool towel, and only at checkout were we charged €3 each, a fee nobody had mentioned when I asked for them. I wouldn’t recommend it and will never return.

For the high price, we expected much more. Our room was tiny, the sheets were dirty and the water heater was noisy. The staff were rather unfriendly, and at checkout they tried to charge us double. The rooms need renovating, and €30 for a beach umbrella and loungers is simply overpriced.

The half-board menu had really good food, and the swimming pool was nice, especially its deep section for diving lessons. Breakfast was better than we expected, too. The location beside a semi-private beach was perfect. We stayed at Fiore Di Maggio in May 2018 and felt it was the best value in the neighborhood, especially with so many high-end hotels nearby. Really recommended!
