The garden was lovely, with space to sit and eat outside, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s about a 10-minute walk to a very nice beach. But the room barely blocks sound. We could hear neighbours moving furniture outside, talking, music, and dogs barking continuously, from early morning until after midnight. There were ants in the kitchen and bathroom. Since it’s a one-room apartment with a fridge, we had to unplug the fridge to get away from the generator noise and sleep. The pool has no closing time, which is nice in theory, but awful when you’re trying to rest. On the first night we had to fix the slatted bed frame before we could lie down, and the bed and mattress were still very saggy.

The rooms could use some refreshing, but the staff were friendly and there’s a nice pool with no closing time. It’s within walking distance of the beach and a supermarket, and there’s a dishwasher in the room.

The receptionist was very courteous, and the property itself is beautiful, but it feels neglected. The hot tub wasn’t working when we arrived. Rooms are dated, and neither the inside nor outside windows close properly. There are no mosquito nets, so unless you stay inside with the air conditioning on, mosquitoes swarm in. The outdoor lights are faulty and half destroyed too. Given what we paid for a midweek stay in mid-September, I expected more, especially considering the place’s potential.

The property is beautiful and well placed for both the beach and the centre of Villasimius. The service, though, was terrible. Staff were only available from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, which was inconvenient. They switched us to worse accommodation than we had booked, with dated finishes and no dishwasher, even though we had asked for one. There was no effort to make up for the downgrade, not even a simple apology. The promised constant availability was just lip service, and sadly fell short of the usually exquisite Sardinian hospitality. What a shame.
