Emc2 Bed Breakfast

Booking.com canceled the reservation I’d made two months earlier because of overbooking. I only got the email on the morning I was leaving, just as I was going to let them know I’d be arriving soon. Luckily, I checked my email.

The room had an uncomfortable bed and poor-quality pillows, with a walk-in closet over the bed. There was a strong sewer smell, so I had to buy deodorant; the owner should have provided it. The place also felt unsanitary. Getting in meant climbing three steep flights of stairs with no elevator, which could be hard with luggage. I’m giving one star because I can’t give less. I don’t understand the positive reviews, except the ones mentioning the owner’s kindness, which he showed me at first too. He politely insisted on cash payment, including VAT and tourist tax, but never gave me a receipt, and none was issued. My checkout was scheduled for 11:00, yet he told me I had to leave by 10:30 or he’d move my things because he needed to clean, and even the extra 15 minutes I asked for was too much. I left at 10:10 without even a thank you. After he saw my negative Booking.com review, he stopped being kind and called me repeatedly on Epiphany to complain directly to me. I’ve never seen anything like it. He didn’t refund the VAT he charged me or send an invoice. Also, the B&B I stayed in wasn’t the one shown in the photo.

This is a small two-room apartment, simply and modernly furnished, with a welcoming feel. It’s in an excellent spot in the historic center. Breakfast is offered only through a discount coupon for a nearby café.

Eduardo made the stay especially easy. He was incredibly friendly and ready to help with anything. The apartments are lovely, well cared for, and have everything you need. They're right in the center, too. I spent two nights here and would happily come back. Highly recommend!
