Campeggio Haway

We ended up at this campground after our motorbikes had trouble on the Autostrada. With our limited Italian, we couldn’t have found a tire mechanic ourselves, but the owner went out of their way to call around and help us locate one. Most pitches are for permanent campers, who may have been coming here for generations, though there are a few spots for travelers. After a long day on the road, we loved swimming at the little beach on the lake. Everyone was friendly, and even though we stayed just one night, it felt like being part of a big family.

There are only a few spots for travelers, with most of the campsite taken up by permanent pitches. The staff are friendly, and it’s nice to have direct lake access for swimming and fishing. The showers cost €0,50 for 3 min, and the toilets and showers are clean, though old-fashioned.

We’d reserved one night here because it was on our route, but had to leave and find somewhere else. A man who spoke neither English nor French shouted that the place was private and couldn’t understand what we were trying to say. After waiting 5 minutes, we spoke to another guy, who at least tried to communicate but still had no idea what we meant. What a sh**hole!

People there are friendly, open-minded, and very helpful. The bathrooms aren’t very nice, and there’s no hot water, but everything else is good.
