Eurhotel Volpiano

Nothing special, but it wasn't bad either. Just normal.

It was definitely hot in the room, which reached 29.5°C, with the average temperature above 25°C. When we booked, staff assured us we'd be able to check in during the afternoon as requested. But on arrival we found the hotel closed from 1:00 PM until it reopened at 6:30 PM, so we couldn't use our room that afternoon.

The restaurant was just as bad, though the food and staff are up there. The place may be cheap, but even that price doesn't feel worthwhile. The room was dirty and wrecked, the door was left a centimeter open even though it seemed shut, and only the minibar door was still there. I'll leave it at that.

The suite had a persistent musty smell, especially in the bathroom, and the towels were dirty and smelly. There were just two bottles of water in the minibar, the jacuzzi was dirty, the walls were cracked, the carpet was dirty, and wallpaper was peeling in places. The air conditioning only worked partly, the TV was a kilometer from the bed, and the mirror had no light bulbs. There was also a strange smell in the hallways. Breakfast and service were disappointing, and the staff were friendly enough but poorly organized. The owners were courteous when we arrived, but the booking was already a mess: we called for a double room, then were told there was no reservation in our name. They offered a French bed instead, which we refused since we'd asked for a double. Since the mix-up wasn't our fault, we stood our ground, and they offered us the suite for €60 instead of full price. We accepted, happy to get it for less, but luckily we hadn't booked the suite of our choice at full price because this one was nothing like a suite. We were disappointed. I had to give it a star to post the review, though I wouldn't have given even half a star. Thinking it over, the tub gets one star on its own. Lots of room for improvement.
