Antico Borgo di Tignano

The staff were super friendly, and we ate delicious food. A great place to stay in a beautiful landscape.

We loved the pool and all the greenery, trees, birds, and butterflies. The views over the Tuscan countryside made meals especially nice, and the food was great. The people working here are the sweetest, and the whole place felt relaxed and like home as soon as we arrived. Waking up here for a week was our best holiday choice. We’d have stayed longer if we could. Thank you Eleonora, Paolo, Louise and everyone else, you’re what make this place so good. And don’t miss Tuesday pizza night!

We came as a small family without booking ahead, and that was no problem, even though they mainly host groups staying overnight. The prices are reasonable, and it was worth the drive. The food is homemade vegetarian, with each dish prepared and served with care. There’s no meat or fish, but we didn’t miss either. A lovely place with nice staff.

We had dinner on the terrace, looking out across the hills, and the wine cellar was stocked with bottles from small, carefully selected local producers that you won’t find in a supermarket. The spacious room was comfortable, and the sunny pool is large, relaxing, and even has Wi-Fi. Tignano is run by a lively young team offering great service and value. It’s a peaceful base in the Tuscan hills, within easy reach of Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra and the other tourist spots. It was hard to leave, and I’ll certainly be back.
