Residence Hotel Riviera Calabra

We wanted to finish our European trip with five quiet, relaxing nights, and this place went beyond what we expected. The hosts welcomed us warmly and even made us espresso when we arrived. Our apartment was spacious and just the right size, with the beach a two-minute walk away and lots of sunbeds to pick from. We spent afternoons unwinding by the pool, and the bar was always open with drinks cheaper than anywhere else we'd visited in Italy. Dinner was a lovely, distinctive three-course menu that changed daily depending on the fish and other ingredients. It's ideal if you want a peaceful beach-and-pool holiday, away from shops and towns, with a book and an Aperol spritz. Also, don't miss the beach about a 15-minute walk away. I've never seen water so blue and clear.

Even at the very end of the season, the staff were friendly, the food was good, and the location was very nice. I also thought through the apartment setup for towels and waste was well planned. I'd give five stars if the hotel did more for sustainable tourism, such as generating solar electricity as well as heating water. With the weather there, that seems like it could make good business sense.

We visited at the end of September and had a great stay. The apartment was quiet and very clean, and the beach was wonderful. Service was friendly and very good. Everything was perfect!

There was a mix-up with our reservation, but the owners handled it really well. The rooms were spotless, the pool was great for kids in particular, and the restaurant prices were very reasonable. Thank you.
