We came looking for possible relatives because my husband's mother's last name is Canevaros. The Castello sits on a cliff with gorgeous views in every direction across the Italian Riviera. It's an easy walk down to town and along the coast, in a quaint seaside place with a few restaurants and a pebbly beach where lots of local families spend time. The building has kept much of its original charm and detail, while still having modern conveniences like air conditioning and hot water. We also spotted signs of Canevaros all over town, which was a lovely bonus.

The owners were especially kind when I wasn't feeling well. They went out of their way to help, while also giving us space to enjoy our own special moments. It felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves, and I really appreciated that. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, with sea views on three sides and perfectly maintained gardens on the fourth. The grounds offer lovely places to relax. Our room was spotless and cozy, with a great bed that made for a restful sleep. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided and easy to reach. This has been my favorite stay of all the places I've visited lately.
