Rockaway Inn

The online photos make the place look modern, but the quality felt cheap. All the furniture in another couple’s room was flimsy wicker, and they didn’t even have a trash can in the bathroom. Customer service, quality, and integrity all fell short. Easily the worst hotel stay I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend it posing as a high end hotel. It felt more like a Motel 6, with no disrespect to Motel 6. If it had been presented as a lower tier place, my expectations would’ve been different. My wife and I were stranded after our flight was canceled and got a voucher for Rockaway or another hotel nearby. I wish we’d picked the other option. We booked for two adults, but when we got to the room it had bunk beds. We were shocked, and when we asked to move, they weren’t helpful and said nothing else was available. Maybe we wouldn’t have found it so awful if we were younger and hadn’t stayed at nicer hotels.
