Spanish Dream Hotel

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE FROM OVERSEAS. I booked through "EDREAM" .NET, apparently their website, and arrived with my reservation and itinerary showing what I was supposed to be charged at the property. The receptionist said the hotel price was double, made a few calls, then came back and insisted I pay the higher amount. I was so disappointed. I’d flown from overseas believing I had somewhere to stay, only to be told on arrival that the price had doubled, with no accountability. I’ll be contacting the Minister of Tourism, MOCA, and other organizations dealing with tourist scams in Jamaica. This place needs to be shut down and removed from Google hotel searches in Kingston because, in my view, they’re scamming and inconveniencing hard-working people. DO NOT book here. This place is a scam!!

My two daughters and I booked four days in March 2025 after a friend recommended the hotel, and it was a disaster. The place around it felt scary, and there was no real security at the gate, just a handyman who left it wide open after hours. The rooms smelled bad, the furniture was dusty, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. I checked in, saw the bedroom mosquito infestation after the windows had been left open, and left an hour later. We later found out we were the only people on the property until 10 pm. Even after staying just an hour, I was charged for a full night. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had visiting Jamaica.

The bathroom smelled of urine, and my room stayed dusty the whole time. I never saw housekeeping. They said they knocked, but I didn’t hear anything. There’s no kitchenette in any of the rooms, despite what was advertised. You can request a fridge, but there’s an extra fee. It’s a nice place, but better cleaning and a little maintenance would make a big difference.

A friend sent me here, and I had an amazing stay. My room felt comfortable and welcoming, and the front office staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The security guards were polite and helpful too, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
