Mandeview Hotel

We never even checked in. Before we arrived, we called to ask about availability and were told the rate was 10,000 for the night. When the desk staffer heard our accents, he asked whether we had Jamaican IDs. We said no, and he then quoted 17,000 per room and said that, since there were six of us, each room could have only two adults. We asked to speak with the manager, but he said she wasn’t there and claimed he had no number for her.

There were pests in the room and giant lizards. Also, a woman was attacked, and they didn’t even call the police. Don’t go here.

A month ago, we had a memorable, fantastic stay at the Mandview Hotel. The peaceful, tranquil atmosphere and the morning scenery were breathtaking. The hotel was well kept, and breakfast was lovely. Miss Marica and her staff went above and beyond to make our wedding a day that we, our friends, and our family will cherish forever.

The view was awesome, but the place wasn’t easy to find. The first receptionist was rude and sarcastic when we asked questions, and didn’t seem interested in finding a room we’d like. We saw two rooms that weren’t great, but after a hectic trip and with it already late, we just needed somewhere to sleep. The fridge door literally fell off in my hand. There was an old toilet stored in the closet area, the doors didn’t open properly, and I had to call my spouse to let me out after using the bathroom. Getting into the shower meant climbing over the toilet and scraping my foot on the edge of the shower door. Everyone else was fine. The breakfast area was nice, the waitress was polite and friendly, and breakfast was delicious. The morning receptionist was much better and refunded us $1000 for the inconvenience and the first guy’s rudeness. He has absolutely no customer service skills, and his service was unacceptable. I doubt I’ll try Mandeview again or recommend it to friends, family, or customers looking for a place to stay in Jamaica. They need to replace or retrain him.
