The room was clean and nice, and the location worked well for my last night after a week in Negril before flying out. It's near the airport, with water access across the road where I dipped my toes and watched planes land. I arrived early expecting to wait until the 3pm check-in. Their cook shop on the property was quick and delicious. Just before 3, someone I assumed was the receptionist said my room would be ready in a few minutes, then disappeared. Another traveler was waiting too. About an hour later the receptionist came back and offered us different ground-floor rooms without the runway balconies we'd booked. We weren't happy, and she said it would only be a little longer. They said they weren't used to being so busy and had lots to clean. They need more staff. We didn't get into our rooms until after 5pm. I'm usually go with the flow, but that was too much. It's a great spot, with plenty of people around watching planes land. If you book, be ready in case you have to wait longer than you should. Hopefully the feedback encourages them to hire more help.

The hotel itself is good for the price, but the problems were serious enough that we found somewhere else after our first night. The worst part was the noise. Airplanes were just white noise to me, but nearby music shook the whole room. There's a bar next door open late, and cars park along the nearby beach playing music right outside the front gate. I know the hotel can't control what's happening right outside its property, but it should mention this in the description or warn guests at booking or check-in. We contacted staff through the expedia app after getting no reply from the front desk. It was only around 9pm, so we thought someone should be there. They said they'd alert the police, but the music kept going for several more hours, probably until around 1am. The unreliable wifi made it harder to drown out the music with white noise. The wifi is advertised as "free," and it is, but it kept cutting out and disconnecting. That was a problem because the smart TV depends on it, and we needed wifi to arrange rides since we had no cell service. The room was well kept and clean. The toilet was a little short and the water didn't get hot, but we could manage those things. Service was inconsistent too. We arrived early and were allowed to leave our luggage in the office, but whenever we went back there was no staff, and our bags were in a room with an unlocked door. A visitor of an employee was kind enough to help us find someone when needed, though that wasn't their responsibility. So the physical hotel is good, but the rest of the experience wasn't.

The on-site restaurant across the yard from our room had some of the best Jamaican food I've had. Locals go there even though it's a bit out of the way. Brown stew chicken, saltfish & beans, breadfruit, red snapper, boiled and fried dumplings, yams, plantains, I could keep going. One hundred out of 5 stars. The place next door stays open late too, with Scotch Bonnet wings, Red Stripe, Jerk Chicken, and epic bartenders when other restaurants are closed. We had a great stay, with friendly people and a clean room. The only thing that bugged me was the toilet seat lid wouldn't stay up by itself. We were there in December and the weather was pretty much perfect, upper 70s/80s with lows in the low 70s. It got humid after rain, but we only had two short storms in a week. The location is about half a mile along a stretch where locals hang out and play music late. Cars and "tent bars" with beer and liquor line the street, and there are two small beaches to swim at. It's close to the airport, so we got more vacation time, and from our bathroom we could see planes taxiing. Watching them land at dusk was incredibly cool, though airport noise at night didn't bother us. The Hip Strip (look it up) and Doctor's Cave Beach are about a mile away, an easy walk that felt safe, or you can take a taxi/Uber. Ocho Rios to the east and Negril to the south, both popular tourist areas, are about 1 1/2 - 2 hours away. This is a place to sleep after a fun, tiring day exploring the country and maybe watch a movie before bed. It's not all-inclusive, and it's not pin drop quiet. People play music late on the road, though not on the property. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs, but we had no trouble falling or staying asleep. The boat and plane photos were taken just outside the gates, and the food photo was from the restaurant on the property. This review is "hurricane-adjusted" since we were there less than two months after Melissa hit and cleanup was still underway. I've tried to take that into account.

The rooms were comfy, and the service was great. We liked the little restaurant on site and the wing spot next door, both served great food. It's a five minute drive from the airport, with lots of taxis nearby, and just a few minutes on foot from the hip strip. The location is great, though the nightlife was a bit noisy, which makes sense for a beach area. There were lots of locals selling things. Thanks for a great experience, and God bless.

Room #1 was fine for a while, but then the noise in the morning was awful. It was raining, so I don't think the noise level should have been that high. It almost gave my lady a heart attack. Sounded like someone dragging stuff across the floor, drilling, or vacuuming really loudly.
