Hotel Grand A View

The pool couldn't be used during remodeling, but they discounted our rooms. Even with the hurricane and work going on, our stay was wonderful. The staff are very nice, the full breakfast is great, and the rooms are clean and well-kept with comfortable beds. The view is the best I've seen in Montego Bay. There's 24-hour security, a restaurant on site, and another down the street. I highly recommend the hotel. I've stayed twice in the last two years. The only reason I rated the location four stars is that you can't walk to shopping. Most people in Motego Bay have transportation for shopping and excursions.

The breakfast was average, though service was good most of the time. But this is a rundown hotel, and the website pictures are misleading. There were ants and bees throughout the corridors. Rooms need upgrades: bathroom faucets leaked and the toilet wouldn't flush. For what you pay, I expected more. It's a costly motel about 7-10 minutes from the strip, and getting down the hill on foot to the beach and shopping isn't easy. The shuttle service is a joke too. It doesn't run throughout the day, just within a time window for trips to the airport or downtown. This isn't really a hotel so much as a strip-line motel. We'll never return. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.

Janet Riley, the Dining Room Supervisor, was the heart and soul of our meals. Her warm leadership and attention to detail made us feel welcome and cared for every time. Tamara also brightened our days with joyful, consistently generous service. Marsha at the front desk made changing the length of our stay several times seamless, and was patient and accommodating each time. Even after Hurricane Melissa, she stayed reachable by email, which showed real dedication and professionalism. The owner was humble and kind-hearted, and his values and leadership come through throughout the hotel. God bless you all for an unforgettable stay. The amenities were outstanding, from the beautiful pool and excellent bar drinks to the restaurant's complimentary Jamaican-style breakfast and varied, delicious dinners. The location, less than 10 minutes from the airport, made travel easy. Hotel Grand A View gave us an exceptional Jamaican vacation, with service that exceeded our expectations from arrival. Before staying here, we briefly arrived at the Grand Palladium Resort & Spa, where the service was far below the warmth, care, and professionalism we received at Hotel Grand A View. If peace of mind, personal service, and genuine hospitality matter to you, book here and save yourself that frustration. I highly recommend it. Hotel Grand A View is the gold standard of Montego Bay hospitality, and deserves more than five stars.

The food was a full 10/10, and the service was wonderful. My room looked nice, though it could use some improvements. There was an odor, and the hot water wasn't working very well.
