Secrets St. James Montego Bay - Luxury - Adults Only - All Inclusive

The spa was my favorite part of the stay. The hotel itself was nice, the staff amazing, and the food good. I wasn’t keen on being offered wine several times at an all-inclusive, though. You can’t book hibachi ahead, but once there we couldn’t get a reservation. Seaweed covered a good stretch of beach, so there was less space to swim.

We came to Secrets Montego Bay for our wedding anniversary and expected a good stay, especially after a smooth check-in. Instead, the roaches in the room and the response to them spoiled much of the trip. On Sunday 10/12/2025 we found one, crushed it, and went to bed. The next day, 10/13, there were three more. We killed two and one escaped. Since it was late, we called the front desk, but the person who answered was rude even though we hadn’t done anything wrong. The manager apologized but offered nothing. Back in the room, we found another roach and saw them coming from the refrigerator compressor (pictures attached). We called again and were finally offered another room at 2230pm. The bellhop took us over. The manager didn’t follow up until the next day, when he offered points for the inconvenience. That wasn’t acceptable to us. We’d also had problems with housekeeping: the rooms were clean, but they often left the sink or cups on the table untouched and didn’t refill the hand soap. I spent a lot on this resort and the preferred club, and didn’t get the service I paid for. Something needs to change. We probably won’t stay at a Hyatt resort again.

From the time we arrived until we left, my wife and I had a fantastic stay. Everyone was helpful and friendly, from reception and the chefs to the cleaners and the talented entertainment crew. The restaurants were brilliant, the sea views beautiful, and the pools and general atmosphere were great too. It’s an incredible hotel, and one I’d love to return to someday.

I found out on my own that my reservation had been cancelled, with no email or call and no refund. I only avoided flying all the way to Jamaica for nothing because I checked my Hyatt account. I expected customer service to sort it out, but the line kept me on hold for hours with nobody answering. I spent literally three hours waiting.
