We’d definitely book again. The Summerhill Villa was beautifully decorated, in a perfect location, and communication was seamless. We had an amazing stay!

With nine spacious bedrooms, Summerhill Villa worked well for our group, whether we wanted to relax or celebrate. It’s in a secure gated community, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and focused on making the stay memorable. The chef prepared meals daily, with flavorful dishes that showed off Caribbean cuisine and Jamaica’s heritage. The villa is only a 15-minute drive from the airport, so getting there was easy. For anyone looking for a luxurious, worry-free stay in Montego Bay, it brings together elegance, relaxation, and Jamaica’s lively spirit. I’d highly recommend it.

The villa itself is picturesque, but the management and service fell far below what was advertised. Our offsite at Summerhill Villa in Jamaica became a stressful experience because of what I saw as unprofessional and deceptive conduct by the owner, Debra, and property manager, Linsey. After years of organizing corporate events and retreats, I’ve never dealt with anything like this. I strongly urge people to avoid the property and spare themselves the stress, financial loss, and disappointment we experienced. The booking was chaotic from the start. In the weeks before our stay, the contract changed several times at the last minute, we were pressed to comply immediately with unreasonable demands, and key terms were unclear. When we tried to clarify the agreement beforehand, Linsey responded evasively and condescendingly. She threatened to cancel our reservation if we didn’t accept her changing terms, even when they conflicted with what had already been agreed. Her tone was disrespectful and defensive, and during and after the stay she shifted blame, even accusing us of not appreciating the staff despite our good-faith attempts to resolve things amicably. The written agreement covered a $4,500 provision deposit and a $2,000 gratuity deposit. We were charged nearly $4,500 for provisions, including what seemed like absurd amounts, such as 65 pounds of meat and 20 pounds of cheddar cheese for eight non-halal meat eaters over seven meals. Much of the food was never served, and the receipts we received were incomplete or unclear, despite evidence we provided of overcharges and unused items. Debra and Linsey didn’t provide complete receipts or return the unused funds as agreed, and repeatedly deflected responsibility. They also kept the $2,000 prepaid gratuity without telling us or getting our consent, despite our explicit agreement that we would decide the amount at the end of the stay. That unilateral choice felt dishonest and left us feeling cheated. The villa didn’t provide the promised transparent receipts for expenses, which was especially frustrating because we needed proper documentation for business purposes.

They remembered my name from day one, and the staff were very attentive to everything I needed. The neighborhood is very exclusive. Top notch.
