Rondel Village

Dinner on the beach was such a nice experience. The restaurant was really busy, but service was quick and well organized. I had the chicken broccoli Alfredo, which was delicious, rich, flavorful, and cooked just right. Great food and a beautiful setting. I’d definitely come back.

We were there to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday, and the stay turned into a stressful disappointment. Check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 p.m., but our group, including my mother, waited until 7:30 p.m. for rooms. It took a prolonged argument with a booking agent to get things moving, and the agent kept changing the explanations and terms. Booking was deceptive too, with the manager giving different quotes to different family members for the same stay. The so-called “beach villa” wasn’t peaceful or comfortable. The bed was extremely hard, and constant street noise made it hard to relax. There was no hot water in either the shower or jacuzzi tub, which is unacceptable at this price. There were problems with the restaurant’s service charge as well. The charge on the bill doesn’t go directly to the servers, and if tips are added by card, staff don’t receive the full amount. If you eat there and get good service, tip in cash. There was no customer service or accountability through a deeply disappointing experience. Rondel Village seemed more focused on taking money than offering genuine hospitality. I would not return or recommend it, especially to families, seniors, or anyone looking for a relaxing and honest resort stay.

The restaurant food was excellent, so we may come back just to eat there, but we’ll stay somewhere else. I paid over $400 Canadian for one room for one night, and that’s unacceptable for the state of things. I understand it was after a hurricane, but three months later there was still no air conditioning, no water at night, and half the lights in our room didn’t work. That made me concerned about electrical damage. The internet stopped working at night too. We had to open the doors, so the street noise was loud.

The chef really did his thing, with every bite of the food getting better. We celebrated my father’s birthday with the whole family, and the staff made everything seamless and comfortable, going the extra mile to make it memorable. Kudos to Saleem the Manager and our waitresses Natasha and Tanisha for awesome service. 10/10 recommended for locals and visitors.
