Sandals Dunn's River Falls

We go on a Sandal’s vacation every year, and Dunn’s was a first for us. The resort's energy and staff were great. The entertainment team was amazing, kind, down to earth, and full of great dancers. I had a blast in the dance classes and at the headphone party, where we tore up the floor. Shavia and Rebbecca - Jane deserve a special shout-out for dancing with me and hyping me up. I loved hearing the Caribbean artists at the beach party, which had a live band, one of the best I've seen. The island music around the pools all week was great too. Venecia in housekeeping was so pleasant that after we crossed paths while she cleaned our room, she remembered our names the rest of the trip. At breakfast and lunch, Orwen was sweet and attentive, bringing napkins, pulling out our chairs, and making sure we were cared for. Rudolph in water sports took us on a great hobby cat ride. My husband usually does it, so it was nice to sit back for once. King at Banyu made sure we had everything we needed. At Zouka, I didn't catch the manager's name, but he came out to greet us and ask if we needed anything. When we said the lobster was amazing, he brought us two more within three minutes. Great people, vibe, and energy. Great resort!

We usually stay in Montego Bay, so the hour and a half drive to Dunn’s is what it is. It's much better than the drive to Negril, where there's more one-lane driving. King, the manager at Bantu, was an unexpected highlight. He's attentive and enthusiastic about the restaurant, and strongly encouraged us to try the banana spring roll and ice cream. Don't miss it. The room furniture is hard, maybe it needs to be worn in, but if nobody sits on it, they won't change it. Staff are generally warm. Pool bar staff were sometimes less attentive, though the butlers were wonderful, and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Iran has been on staff for nine years and is great to talk with anytime. We hadn't expected to hang out at the rum bar for the DJ, but we did. Denzil and Gabriel (Steve) were hilarious and fun, and Shannice was great at introducing the rums and special concoctions. Shout-outs as well to Kayla, Ronaldo, Tonishae, JM, and Sato.

The weather wasn't great when we stayed at Dunns River at the beginning of the month, but we still had such a good time that we booked for next year. The resort is beautiful and so clean, the staff are amazing, and our meals were great. The Super Bowl party was fantastic, from the big screen and all the food, beer choices, and desserts to the beds set up so you could lie back comfortably and watch the game. We're already looking forward to coming back and having another Super Bowl party. Thanks, Sandals Dunns River, for a wonderful stay!

We've visited Sandals Dunns River three times and love how welcoming and friendly Jamaicans are. The staff make you feel like family. Paul and Ricardo helped us when we got off the transit to the hotel, and Rajiv gave excellent service at the Saltaire diner. Ask for Tonyshaye at Banyu. Salvatore is warm and serves good Italian food. We had a blast playing pickelball with SpongeBob and Ruben. If you like tennis, golf, or pickelball, look for SpongeBob (Michael) and he'll get you set up. There's also plenty to do off the resort. I highly recommend swimming with dolphins, and the water sports are great for snorkeling, tubing, skiing, or boating. I'm impressed by how hard Jamaican people work, and I think travelers' financial support matters now more than ever as the island rebuilds. Go to Jamaica, stay at Dunns River, and enjoy yourself.
