Sandals Royal Plantation

Our first visit was in January 2026. It’s a lovely, clean place, and the attentive staff make sure you want for nothing. This is a small, quiet adults-only resort, with suites in every room and butler service on an all-inclusive, 5 star stay. Evenings are peaceful, which suited us. If you want more nightlife or restaurants, there’s a bus to the larger resort. I’d recommend it if you enjoy being pampered and having some quiet. Party-seekers may find it’s not for them.

The setting is peaceful and romantic, and the food has lots of good choices. They also cater to food allergies and dietary requests. There’s plenty to do onsite, including tennis, pickleball, snorkel trips, glass bottom boat rides, kayaks, and a Hobi cat catamaran you can take out yourself or with someone. We’ve stayed at Royal Plantation several times and keep coming back. Our anniversary stay felt special, and it has that homey feeling. The service is what keeps us returning. Neil and Chase were our butlers. Thanks as well to Tiffany, Garth, Camille, Rhona, and the others in the Spa, and to the restaurant waitstaff, especially Sherika, Vanya, Stefanie, and many others. David and the chefs made my husband’s morning meals spicy, just how he likes them. Garnet and Junior at the Wobbly peacock made perfect drinks. We’re grateful to the entertainment team, housekeepers, groundskeepers, management, travel and loyalty staff, and gift shop staff too. Omar and Marvin deserve a special thanks for the team they have here. Everything went smoothly, from the airport trip from OCJ and check-in through checkout and the trip to MBJ. Highly recommend this resort.

After our first trip to Jamaica and first Sandals visit, we’ve just returned from Sandals Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios. It was the best resort stay we’ve ever had. The place is intimate, with about 75 rooms, and we loved its quiet, relaxed feel. There was entertainment in the evenings without things getting loud or chaotic. It’s more beach, butler service, and calm than big pools. If you want larger pools or more nightlife, Sandals Ochi is next door. We went to The Rabbit Hole and saw Lady Cher perform. She’s incredibly talented. The food was outstanding, especially the coconut lobster and lamb. What made the stay feel personal was the care and attention to detail. Omar, the resort manager, greeted guests by name and checked in often. You could feel his pride in the place throughout the property. Our butlers, Sherril and Gladstone, brought fresh coconut and lobster lunches to the beach and even went out for authentic jerk chicken. Lots of people made the visit memorable: Junior at the Wobbly Peacock was welcoming and patient; Daniello on the beach was attentive and friendly; Stefnie at breakfast was a lovely start to the day; and Tresell had great service and a good sense of humor. Romain, also known as “Fresh Prince,” combined personality with professionalism, and gave shoulder massages if you asked nicely. Giovani was amazing each time he served us, and Anthony had me laughing with his humor and random meowing. The piano player at the French restaurant was wonderful. Winston, our airport driver, was professional and great to talk to, and we learned a lot from him. Omar, the shuttle driver, was hilarious. Sequoia was lovely to talk to, very knowledgeable, and absolutely stunning on Valentine’s Day. No one was pushy, and the service felt genuine. After the hurricane hit the island months ago, the Jamaican people’s resilience and pride were humbling. You can see the rebuilding, and feel warmth and gratitude everywhere. We understand why people return year after year, and we’ll absolutely be back. Thanks to everyone, even the people whose names I couldn’t remember. One Love. 🇯🇲

Omar, the General Manager, seemed to be everywhere, greeting us by name and making us feel like family. His presence sets a warm tone across the resort. Our butlers, Gladstone and Sheril, were real professionals and anticipated what we needed, so we could relax. Sequoia in Sales was the friendliest person we met and made arranging future visits feel easy and exciting. We can’t wait to return. Kimmy made us the best Old Fashioneds we’ve ever had, too. My husband and I spent a week at Sandals Royal Plantation and left feeling completely rejuvenated. The team genuinely cared about making our vacation relaxing. If you want to be treated with real care and luxury, this is the place.
