Melia Braco Village, Jamaica - All Inclusive

The room met my expectations, and the food was great. This place is beautiful and relaxing, with awesome staff from security and reception to the waiters, bartenders, room service, and manager. There was plenty to do if you wanted activities, and the beachfront was well maintained. The food followed a nicely balanced rotation, with several restaurants to choose from. Our room was clean, housekeeping was good, and room service came pretty quickly. Local art vendors visited, and the nightly entertainment was wonderful. We also found lots of attentive staff. Two things need attention: the shower nozzles were installed oddly and didn't seem to work properly, at least in our room. Also, some staff were friendly and helpful, but others, mainly in sales and administration, seemed less welcoming. They did help us, though we felt like an inconvenience. Even so, we had a great stay and enjoyed the experience.

I want to be fair, since some staff went above and beyond and delays caused by the resort running short on something aren't their fault. Still, management sets the tone, and when that example isn't there, you notice. The staff seemed to work long, tiring hours, which made me sad for them. I hope the new manager learns to appreciate and respect the people whose work keeps the place going. We waited for our reservation at 876 prime steak house, then were told they had no steaks. We chose the catch of the day instead, waited an hour and 15 minutes, and eventually went back to our room to order room service. Some staff were friendly and accommodating, while others weren't as much. The place itself is beautiful, and I loved the cozy, private layout of the cottages. The beach is a little rocky but otherwise amazing. The live entertainment every night was really good. I'd consider giving it another try in the future in case this was just an off week.

We had a lovely room facing the beach, just a few steps from the water. My wife and kids had a good time, and the pool was a hit with them. The room was well maintained, and room service was good. The restaurants were mostly okay, nothing special. My main complaint was the adventure park. It's a lovely idea, but it was poorly run, with only one person working the whole area at a time. The zip line needs two people to operate safely, so it was out of service for all five days we were there.
