Sunflower Villas

The place was filthy, and I've travelled extensively in a lot of poor countries. We had to wash every dish and pot before using it. The beach area was horrible too, just a concrete retaining wall, with no sand or even rocks. For a property with beds for about eight people, the kitchen had only a few cups and plates and one pot. No coffee, no tea, nothing. At least there were towels and a little gas left in the cooker cylinder. I booked and paid over $200aud for two rooms for two adults and three young kids. I couldn't find the place because maps don't work well in JM, and they didn't answer the phone to help us from 4pm onwards while we searched. We eventually found another one of their properties late in the day, with no chance of finding another moderate to low cost option. The woman handling check-in was incredibly arrogant and rude, and acted as if we'd booked that property. The booking included AC, WiFi, a pool, a kitchen, and Netflix, YouTube, and TV. There was no pool. She wouldn't give us the AC handsets, saying we didn't get AC at that price. I tried showing her the booking confirmation, but she wouldn't even look at it. We had paid for AC and were denied it, and the high-20s Celsius overnight temperatures made for a very bad sleep. The TV didn't work, and there was no Netflix or YouTube. WiFi did work, at least. A technician came but couldn't fix it, and said he'd return for that and a few other issues. We never saw him again. Of my last 100 stays, this would be way below number 99. Awful in every way. Stay away from this black hole.
