Sol Mar, Silver Sands 3BR

The month here costs around $10,000 USD, and it hasn't come close to being worth that. Construction a few doors down has meant noise throughout our stay. Nobody told us beforehand, and the site feels dangerous, with debris flying around. We were without water for days. We had to ask next door for a bucket to shower and use pool water to flush the toilet. The staff haven't made things easier. They don't ask what we want or what we prefer, they just do things their way, and they ruined expensive food that we still had to pay for. It's been very unsatisfactory. The owners won't discuss any kind of refund or moving us, and we still have three weeks here. One AC unit was dripping a lot when we arrived. We were blamed for leaving windows and doors open while it was running, but we hadn't. The unit is above a socket with exposed wiring, which feels unsafe. The pool chlorine was so strong it burned our skin. They diluted it, but it was still too strong and burned us again. A couple of glasses broke, and staff said we had to pay for them even though we had already paid extra for possible damage. The driver sent to collect us from the airport later took us somewhere else and charged us far too much. When we wanted to exchange money, he brought us to a man in a car park who looked dodgy. Tiles are coming off the main bathroom wall. The villa description listed a grill, but it doesn't work, and neither does the phone. If there were an emergency, we couldn't even call the security gate. All of this should have been checked properly and we should have been told about it. We don't feel safe and we're unhappy with a lot of things. Silver Sands has many more beautiful villas for less that offer more. I wouldn't recommend Sol Mar. And Miss Chen has the nerve to call us unreasonable.
