The peaceful beachfront and great bar made Taino Cove a memorable place for us. We flew from California for my fiancée’s birthday, and Lisa welcomed us warmly, almost like family. Our ocean-view room was spacious, spotless and relaxing, and we woke each morning to the sound of waves. The snorkeling was amazing: we swam beside puffer fish, a giant blowfish and schools of colorful tropical fish. The drive there was beautiful, with lush scenery, and there were great local restaurants nearby. The whole stay felt private, romantic and full of heart. My fiancée couldn’t stop smiling. When we return to Jamaica, we’ll stay here again. 10/10.

I need quiet when I’m writing, and Taino Cove gives me that. I like working on my veranda after sunset with faint ancestral drum rhythms in the distance. There are glimpses of history and purpose in this “Bread Basket” of St. Elizabeth's parish. Getting a taxi out here can be tricky, but that works for me, and there’s no traffic. The hotel’s pastel colors, brighter touches at the bar and architecture give me a rich diaspora feeling, with colonial, classic Jamaican, African, British and a hint of American Mardi Gras influence. I feel this place is sacred, and the lobby feels like a little museum, with lovely artisan-made gifts for sale. Beyond the welcome hall are open-air dining spaces, a pool platform for lounging and sunbathing, and a glorious bar under a wide sky. The pool is crystal clear and overlooks the Caribbean Sea. The guesthouse is designed and decorated with African-European influences. Staff are courteous and available, and there’s great value for the money. Nearby, you can find good local food. Taino Cove is peaceful unless you feel like having a dance party or workout swim at the pool, like I did with friends who came on a day pass. It’s a lovely place for quiet time with loved ones, a family walk on the pristine beach, or a date with a day pass. Swimming at our beach is at your own risk, though a few steps down the shore there’s a shallower part of the cove. I was here during the slow season, so it wasn’t busy. It feels like a real shift whenever I’m here. The setting also seems suited to retreats, groups, conferences and weddings, a place for people to gather and celebrate life, hope and love for Jamaica. We laughed, swam, danced and sang until we were worn out, after a glorious sunset during hurricane season. Being here is invigorating, and a stress inducer and reliever at once. The spacious rooms are consistently clean and thoughtfully designed for individuals or groups, with details that gently introduce guests to a deeper Jamaican experience. To me, the Taino, Indigenous, African, Jamaican, American and European experiences all exist here, along with renewed pride, innovation, an improved economy and more on the horizon for local people. I see the whole area around Taino Cove Hotel as a sacred heritage place and cultural hub. Walk through the lobby more than twice and stop to look at the walls. For me, Taino Cove celebrates the parts of Jamaica I love, including Taino, African and Jamaican history. The hotel has beachside charm and Caribbean Sea views, great pillows and white cotton sheets, plus different room styles for individuals and groups. I feel welcomed and cared for by the staff, who go above and beyond to accommodate me. I got my hair braided a couple of weeks ago. It feels like the family I miss, so I’m staying as long as God sees fit. I’m a new permanent resident, retired and resting in Treasure Beach, Jamaica at Taino Cove Hotel & Bar. What a life! Come join me at the bar sometime. I recommend staying more than two nights, as that made it easier for me to relax and get to know the community.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and our balcony had breathtaking views of the pool, mountains and ocean. The staff welcomed us and made us feel at home, and the food was amazing. We’ll definitely return to see our new friends.

The room was basic, with nice decor, spotless and very comfortable. There were only four hangers, two meant for children, and the bathroom had no clothes hooks or towel rails, which was awkward and unusual, though easy enough to fix. The service was impeccable and friendly. The pool was huge and clean, breakfast was great, and the quiet location has direct access to the beach. Good value in a lovely area, and I’d return. We booked this Christmas visit at short notice. The communication beforehand was helpful, and when there was a small room mix-up, it was sorted out quickly.

A great place in Treasure Beach, with fantastic views and the ocean crashing all night. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and all have A/C. Everyone working there is friendly and makes sure your needs are taken care of.
