Ajloun Hotel

The food was especially good, with several chefs around and everyone was really nice to us. Rooms and pool were beautiful and very clean, too. The service was the best part: you could call at 3 am and someone would answer. Great location. I’d recommend it 💯💯 and would come back if I got the chance.

For Ajloun, where places to stay are limited, this is a fairly priced option in a convenient location, with Jordanian breakfast included and nice room views. The price is also why I’m giving it three stars. The building and rooms are very old and visibly deteriorating, though the lobby is a little better. Cleanliness didn’t seem to be a priority. Keep your own standards in mind alongside what you’re paying.

The room and hotel were worn and not very clean. The sheets had stains, the floor felt sticky, and asking for the bathroom to be cleaned made very little difference. The advertised continental breakfast wasn’t available; I was served a traditional Jordanian breakfast, and the plates weren’t clean. Stains I left on day two were still in the same spots the next morning. While I waited and ate, the man serving breakfast was coughing, sneezing, and smoking in the kitchen. I wouldn’t expect much here or stay longer than needed. I paid 71JD for three nights in a private room with breakfast. It’s mid-range in price but basic. I was the only guest when I visited at the end of october 2021. Two men ran the hotel, cleaned the room, and made breakfast, served from 8-10AM. Wifi only worked in the lobby, where I was offered free tea. Bottled water was sold at reception for 1JD per 1.5L. The hotel is a steep 20-minute walk uphill from the town center and bus station, but the castle is easy to reach on foot and the room view is beautiful. The bus station also made trips to Jerash, about 30 minutes away, and Umm Qais, around two hours via Irbid, straightforward. I met very friendly people in town, which made my stay enjoyable anyway.

Right next to Ajloun castle, with a lovely view at night and traditional Jordanian style. The hotel’s equipment is old rather than new, but it’s not a five-star place and the price reflects that.
